The Katy Moy Experience – The Band
The Katy Moy Experience is a novelty jazz band with musical styles ranging from traditional jazz standards to jazz-adapted top 40 tunes. The band is available for available for weddings, birthdays, special events, and holiday parties, clubs, hotels, restaurants, and outdoor festivals and concerts. The Katy Moy Experience is an LGBTQ-Friendly Vendor.
Katy Moy – Band Leader, Vocals
Katy Moy has been singing and playing music for over 20 years. Her first passion has always been singing, but she is also a trained pianist. After high school, she continued to pursue music at the University of Southern Maine (USM), as well as a semester abroad in 2005 at Universidad de Chile and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, studying world music. While at USM, Katy studied both classical and jazz, voice and piano, performed in the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra on upright bass, USM Percussion Ensemble, and various vocal jazz combos, a capella groups, and ensembles. She finished her degree at USM in December of 2007. She has adjudicated for Maine vocal jazz festivals such as Maine Jazz Allstate and Central Maine Jazz Districts. Katy’s style focuses heavily on her ability to bend time and phrasing within a song. Her sound is mellow, but angelic, heavily grounded in a traditional jazz style. Katy also enjoys performing popular music with a jazz inspired approach. Katy formed The Katy Moy Experience Jazz Quartet in 2011.

Greg Toro – Bass
Gregory Toro is a Boston-born bassist who has been performing in bands since he was a child, starting on steel drums and taking up string instruments at 16 . He studied composition at Berklee College of Music and currently plays jazz, reggae, rock, pop, funk and bluegrass gigs around the northeast. He has toured Europe and Asia, and is excited to see where music will take him next.
Steve Wilkinson – Drums
Steve Wilkinson is a drummer, composer, and music educator from the Boston area. He graduated with distinction from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in 2011, with a bachelor’s degree in performance, jazz drums. He now lives in Quincy, MA and teaches drums both privately and in the Milton Public Schools. In addition to playing with Katy Moy, Steve is currently the drummer for NBC’s The Voice finalist Kristen Merlin, as well as Allston-based rock/jazz/funk/prog metal fusion band Strange Changes, and Cape Verdean singer Jaasiel Sança. Steve works as both a studio and live drummer for various other bands and artists, covering a broad spectrum of musical genres.
